Argentina Football: Messi and Maradona

Argentine people are crazy for just one thing- no two things: Football and Maradona. Maradona helped them to have their greatest moment in the history of country in 1986 Fifa World Cup Football when Maradona single handedly made Argentina champion.

Now, it seems that Lionel Messi is turning into another Maradona for Argentina. His goal for Barcelona reminded Maradona’s solo goal in 1986 against England.

All Africa wrote:

The 19-year-old Argentine dribbled from inside his own half to score Barcelona's second goal in a 5-2 semi-final first leg victory over Getafe in the King's Cup.

Diego has always backed me and I hope he gets well soon. The whole of Argentina wants him back well again because we miss him," Messi said after the game.

Good news for Argentine football fans. By the way, don’t forget that Argentina has millions of fans in South Asia. They would love to see Messi single handedly leading Argentina to win Fifa World Cup Football 2010.
