Vasek Pospisil and Milos Raonic made upset against Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic

Vasek Pospisil and Milos Raonic, the pair of wildcard Canadians, made a big upset after defeating the world’s top two players, Rafael Nadal of Spain and Serbian Novak Djokovic, in their Toronto Masters first round doubles match. The Canadian team won the match 5-7, 6-3 and 10-8 at centre court.

It was not an easy victory for the dream doubles team as Nadal and Djokovic won the first set 7-5, but then they lost the next two sets0 6-3, 10-8.

Winning the last three games of the second set, the twenty-year-old Pospisil and nineteen-year-old Raonic immediately gained control in the match tie-break by rolling out to a 4-0.

Before Nadal and Djokovic, tennis fans saw other top two singles players, Jimmy Connors and Arthur Ashe, who were ranked first and second respectively, joined forces in doubles 34 years ago.

After Simon Larose, Vasek Pospisil has beaten a top-15 player as a Canadian man at his home tournament in seven years. When Simon defeated Gustavo Kuerten, he was ranked No. 314 in the world at the time.

It was an exciting and nail biting match. Fans could not understand what the result is expected to be until the end of the match.

Ana Ivanovic House in Mallorca: Some Information

(This entry was originally published in this blog December 2008 and it is based on the information of that time.)

Serbian tennis star has recently bought a house in Mallorca for a whopping 4,5 million Euros. Located in a picturesque hilly area Son Vida, the luxurious house was built in 1998. Ana Ivanovic is current spending her vacation in his new house along with boyfriend and love-bird Fernando Verdasco, Davis cup winning Spanish tennis star. Earlier, fellow Serbian tennis stars Jelena Jankovic, ranked no. 1 in WTA ranking, and Novak Djokovic also bought luxurious villas.

The total area of Ana Ivanovic’s plot measures 6,000 square meters and the house only occupies 950 square meters. Here are some information about the villa:

Blic reported:

The villa has two levels: the ground floor consists of a spacious living-room, kitchen with breakfast area, master bedroom with dressing room and bathroom. The first floor includes four bedrooms with balconies and three bathrooms and there is also a separate staff apartment including a bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom.
Ana Ivanovic, currently in a relationship with the Spanish tennis player Fernando Verdasco, spent last summer in Mallorca and decided to buy a house on this island located in the Balearic Islands archipelago. During her visit, Ana made a choice to purchase a villa, but negotiations with a real-estate agency were not successful. This time, Ana negotiated with another real estate agency and finally has become the owner of the modern villa.

World no. 1 Jelena Jankovic also has a luxurious house in Miami. Her dream house in San Diego is now under construction and she is very much delighted with her new house which will have Gym, swimming-pool, tennis court, spacious room, huge garage, mini cinema hall etc. Novak Djokovic, ranked 3rd in ATP ranking, also has a exclusive flat in Monte Carl, a popular celebrity destination. He is also happy with his flat in the city which, he thinks, gives him everything that he needs.

Novak Djokovic to Host First Ever ATP Tournament in Serbia

(This entry was originally posted in this blog on December 4, 2008 and the information is based on that time.)

Serbia has become one of the power in the tennis world over the last few years with some of its young generation tennis stars dominating the game in both men’s and women’s event. Novak Djokovic is the third ranked players of ATP ranking, while Jelena Jankovic is leading the WTA ranking and Ana Ivanovic is at the fifth position of the WTA ranking. Despite Serbia’s progress in the tennis world, the country has not hosted any ATP or WTA tournament yet.

Well, that is what is going to happen very soon. Novak Djokovic is going to host Serbia’s first ever ATP event in Many next year. Djokovic’s family has bought the official right to organize the ABN Amro Open which was earlier held in Netherlands.

IHT reported:

“After all the success of our players, we have managed to bring Serbia to the world map of tennis,” Djokovic said.

Another good news for the Serbian tennis fans is that Ana Ivanovic is also trying to host a WTA tournament in Serbia as soon as possible. The fifth ranked Ivanovic is now trying to buy a franchise for a WTA tournament which is expected to be organized next winter. No doubt, these tournaments will expose tennis broadly to the Serbian people and this will only be good for the future of tennis in Serbia.

Novak Djokovic Eyeing on the Top Spot of ATP Ranking

Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic finished the year winning the year-ending tournament Masters Cup in Shanghai recently. Djokovic leads the rise of Serbian tennis in men’s division, while fellow Serbian Jelena Jankovic and Ana Ivanovic are doing the same in female tennis. Djokovic currently stands third in the ATP ranking after Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, but the way he is progressing, it is pretty much clear that he will take a stern test of Nadal and Federer next year.

In fact, he has already set his eyes on the top spot in the ranking, claiming that he wants to reach atop the ranking within next couple of years. After winning his first grand slam tournament in Australian Open 2008, he continued his excellent form on the court almost throughout the season winning four other titles. There are many including his coach Marian Vajda who thinks Djokovic has all the qualities to become no. 1 in men’s tennis.

Blic reported:

“Novak began the year in style and finished it the same way. I seems to me he performed the same way at both the first tournament of 2008 – the Australian Open – and the last one in Shanghai. In order to stay on top, you need to play at your best at big events. Djokovic can certainly reach the number one position, but judging from this season, Nadal is deservedly at the top. A number of other players with same ambitions have emerged, such as Andy Murray and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, but Novak widened the gap on those two towards the end of the season, which is a sound basis for the start of the next season,” says Vajda.

British star Andy Murray also indicated his rise in world tennis this year. Now, the likes of Djokovic and Murray are considered to be biggest threats for Nadal and Federer in 2009. With Nadal falling in an injury and Federer struggling to maintain consistency on the court, it is pretty much clear that Murray and Djokovic have realistic chance to shot at the top spot in the ranking.

French Open 2008: Favorites of Men’s Singles

You know that French Open is the only grand slam tournament on clay-court. Many great players found it hard in the past to continue their success on the clay-court because playing on this kind of court requires a lot of strength and stamina. For example, current no. 1 of Men’s singles tennis, Roger Federer, could not yet win the title of French Open so far, even though he has already bagged 12 grand slam titles so far his career. On the other hand, Rafael Nadal, the current world no. 2, has won three grand slam titles so far in his career, all three being achieved in French Open for the last three years in a row. Now, another clay-court grand slam, French Open 2008 is going to be started from 25 May. So, the ultimate question comes, who are the favorites of the tournament.

As far as the results of last three French Open tournaments is concerned, I think, Rafael Nadal is undoubtedly comes in the forefront of everyone when it comes to French Open and I do not see any reason to think other way, because Nadal’s recent form on clay-court is also satisfactory. The Spanish star defeated Roger Federer in the final of Hamburg Masters recently, which is 8th clay-court victory of Rafael Nadal over Roger Federer out of their nine clay-court meetings. So, it is almost clear that Rafael Nadal is going to start the tournament as the most favorite.

For Roger Federer, winning a French Open title has now become a criterion to make a final step towards his greatness as a player. It does not mean that Federer has no place in the history of tennis without a French Open title. Actually, a French Open title would bring a polished look to his career. It would make himself reckon a career grand slam. No doubt, he has to show the best ever performance to win French Open 2008. He has to know or find some way to stop the Spanish star, Rafael Nadal on clay-court.

Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal always take away most of the media attention. However, in 2008 so far, the top two players have had to share it with Serbian emerging star Novak Djokovic, who started the year winning Australian Open 2008 title, the first and only grand slam so far in his career. Following the success of Australian Open 2008, he went on to win two Masters tournaments so far this year. In terms of performance, he is the best player of 2008 until now in terms of performance. So, I think, Djokovic could be even a bigger threat for Rafael Nadal than Roger Federer. The Serbian youngster is now full of confidence and gunning for second grand slam title.

Aside from the top three, I think, David Ferrer, David Nalbandian and surprise performer of Australian Open 2008, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga could be strong challengers for the top three of the ranking. I am not quite happy with the performance of James Blake and Andy Murray, but I think, you should keep your eyes on these two as well, because both of them are talented and potential. Andy Murray won the Marseille Open in February. So, I think, men’s singles of French Open 2008 is going to be an exciting tournament with a number of favorites for the title. So, hold on your breath and wait for the tournament gets underway.

Novak Djokovic Wins Australian Open 2008 Title

Novak Djokovic has claimed his first grand slam title in his career after a hard-fought 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 7-6 victory over Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. No doubt, it is a memorable night for the third seed Serbian, who had only one grand slam final appearance before Australian Open 2008. However, the victory did not come easily for Djokovic as Jo-Wilfried Tsonga started the match in style winning the first set 6-4.

After the first set, there were many who started to prepare for another magic from Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who earlier defeated Andy Murray, the ninth seed, and Rafael Nadal, the second seed, in his way to the final. However, Novak Djokovic bounced back and proved his worth once again. Djokovic won the next two sets with sheer dominance, though Tsonga tried his best and posed some threat for the Serbian.

Djokovic faced a real challenge in the fourth set that he had to win in tie-breaker. Tsonga played very well in the set going hand in hand with Djokovic. Neither of them could break serve in the set and eventually it went to tie breaker to be decided. However, Tsonga’s all resistance fall down in the tie-breaker as Novak Djokovic sealed the match and made it a special day in his life.

The tournament has come as a breakthrough for Tsonga, who started the tournament as world no. 38 and there were hardly any one who could even think off Tsonga would be one of the finalists before the Australian Open 2008 kicked off. Australian Open 2008 now deserves a place in the history as a tournament where the dominance of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal ended and it introduced two finalists who had not won any grand slam title before the tournament.

Novak Djokovic vs Jo-Wilfried Tsonga: Live Score and Updates

http://techblogbiz.blogspot.com/2008/01/novak-djokovic-vs-jo-wilfried-tsonga_27.html

Novak Djokovic and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will take on each other in the final of Australian Open 2008. Ahead of the men’s final, set to be held on Sunday, it has already been confirmed that someone is going to win his first grand slam title in Australian Open 2008 with the fact that neither of them has won any grand slam title so far in their career. So, it is going to be a massive final for both of them.

There was hardly anyone who could even think of Jo-Wilfried Tsonga as the finalist of Australian Open 2008 before the tournament kicked off. Who could even dare to say that Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal would be out of the tournament before final? The tournament has been full of upsets and has introduced some new stars of tennis world. Jo-Wilfired Tsonga is one of them.

It is now obvious that both the players are eyeing on their first grand slam titles. For Tsonga, this is going to be the first grand slam final as well. In fact, he is the first play after Gustavo Kuerten to reach the first ATP final in a grand slam tournament. It is really something special for someone to get in to the final of grand slam tournament as world no. 38 in the ranking.

When Djokovic first defeated Roger Federer last year in a tournament, it was thought that the Serbian is going to emerge as the big threat for both Federer and Nadal. However, Djokovic failed to win any grand slam title last year, despite reaching the final of U.S. Open last year. However, the Serbian could get into the top five of the ranking last year. Now, it seems that Novak Djokovic has become one of the strong challengers of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal after showing impressive performance this year.

Actually, the way Djokovic and Tsonga ousted the top two of the ranking indicates something bright of future. I think, it has already been certain that Djokovic and Tsonga are coming up next to succeed Federer and Nadal. I do not think that Nadal was in great form in the tournament; however, Federer was in good from though his form proved less as he had to face a flawless Djokovic.

Now, ahead of the final, I think, Djokovic is favorite to win the title. However, it does not mean that Tsonga has no chance in the match. Djokovic looks very powerful and mentally strong against Federer. His ground shots, serves were impressive. Tsonga, on the other hand, is very much aggressive and certainly, he is now full of rhythm. It is also true that, if Djokovic thinks that he is going to get over the French easily, then he is going to make a big mistake. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will try his best to resist the Serbian in order to win the title. As both of them are yet to taste their first grand slam success then they will certainly put on their best effort to become the champion of Australian Open 2008 tournament.

Novak Djokovic vs Jo-Wilfried Tsonga: Live Score and Updates

http://techblogbiz.blogspot.com/2008/01/novak-djokovic-vs-jo-wilfried-tsonga_27.html

After a long time, tennis world is going to a grand slam men’s final without Roger Federer in the Australian Open 2008 men’s singles final. In the last few years, it became a rule that Federer was there whenever it came to a grand slam final. However, the Serbian Novak Djokovic was confident to present a grand slam final without Roger Federer. Rafael Nadal was earlier crushed out of tournament being defeated to unseeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the first semi final of Australian Open.

Now, Novak Djokovic vs Jo-Wilfried Tsonga final is the center of all attention in the tennis world along with women’s final between Maria Sharapova vs Ana Ivanovic.. Among the four finalists only Maria Sharapova has grand slam title in singles. So, it seems that Australian Open 2008 will be remembered for introducing some of the starlets of the tennis world.

Novak Djokovic will definitely be considered as hot favorite against Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the final of the tournament. The third seed is now, for sure, flying in full swing after the breakthrough victory against Roger Federer. Djokovic was the runner up of U.S. Open 2008, which was the first ever grand slam tournament for the Serbian. Actually, it was really very important for Djokovic to prove his worth and he could not find any bigger stage to show what he has in him or what he deserves. In the post-match reaction, Novak Djokovic seemed to be one of the happiest men in the world.

Times Online reported:

"It's amazing, an indescribable feeling to beat the No1 player of the world, probably one of the best players this sport has ever had, in straight sets," Djokovic said.

"I'm very, very proud of myself. I was feeling in control from the first moment and I tried to keep positive thoughts in my head all the time and not to have so many ups and downs in my game, which I did in our past matches.

"I'm just so amazed at how well I coped with the pressure, in the most important moments I played my best tennis."

While Djokovic is favorite to most of the people, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga must be inspired to make his presence felt in the final, what he has been doing in all previous round matches. He has become the first person after Kuerten to reach the first ATP final in a grand slam tournament. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga started Australian Open 2008 as the world no. 38 in the ranking.

So, it is easily understandable that he is now in a dream run which he started beating ninth seed Andy Murray in the first round of the tournament. After defeating world no. 2 Rafael Nadal in three-set match in semi final, he revealed his

Canada.com reported:

"Today I played the match that everyone dreams of all their life," said Tsonga, who even dwarfed Nadal's considerable presence in the interview room in his tight, fitted T-shirt, bulging biceps, huge right forearm, million-dollar smile and diamond stud earrings.

"The moment when you feel you just can't miss, you put more energy into the ball, more power. And I still wasn't making mistakes, so I hit even harder," he said. "I sort of sensed he was thinking,"Who is this guy who's sending me all this stuff from everywhere on the court?

"Tonight I really felt untouchable," he said.

Tsonga made himself untouchable to everyone whoever he faced this tournament so far. He has not left any stone unturned to show his skill and talent in Australian Open 2008. With his similarity with Muhammad Ali, he was called Muhammad Ali of tennis. Novak Djokovic must have the better performance in his professional career than Tsonga. However, the way this French has been playing seems something special. So, Djokovic can not expect any less resistance from Tsonga than what he faced against Federer.

I think, Djokovic and Tsonga have already brought out a huge change in men’s tennis with their performance in Australian Open 2008. People were used to see Federer-Nadal final. Now, after blowing off the no.1 and 2, it has been the responsibility of Djokovic and Tsonga to present with a classic final of dramatic Australian Open 2008 tournament.

Roger Federer vs Novak Djokovic: Live Score and Updates

Novak Djokovic has won the match by 7-5, 6-3, 7-6 (7-5)

With this victory, Novak Djokovic has already entered into the history for ending Roger Federer’s 10 consecutive grand slam finals since he failed to make it to the final in French Open 2005 after falling to Rafael Nadal in the semi final. Novak Djokovic projected a famous victory over world no. 1 Roger Federer with showing phenomenal performance.

To tell the truth, Roger Federer also played well. However, Novak Djokovic was outstanding throughout the match. Federer started the match well and was ahead of Djokovic in the first set. However, Djokovic sealed the first set winning the last three games. In the second set, Djokovic dominated to take the score 5-0 with two break points, before Federer went on to win three games in a row. However, it was not enough to resist the Serbian as he bagged the second set playing an ace. The third was much closer as Federer tried his best to take the match in the fourth round. The Swiss missed a set point which cost him most as Djokovic took it to the tie-break, where the world no. 3 was claimed the set and booked his final berth.

Djokovic will face Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the final. Both of them could not win any grand slam tournament in their career. So, it is expected to be an interesting match as they will try their best to win their career first grand slam title.

Roger Federer vs Novak Djokovic: Semi Final of Australian Open 2008

For the score of Roger Federer vs Novak Djokovic match, visit this link:

http://techblogbiz.blogspot.com/2008/01/roger-federer-vs-novak-djokovic-live.html

Roger Federer is going to take on third seed Novak Djokovic in today’s semi final of Australian Open 2008. The match has already made headlines many times and is now the center of all attention. With Rafael Nadal’s crushing out of the tournament yesterday being defeated to French unseeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who has continued his dream run in the tournament reaching the final of the tournament.

Roger Federer defeated American James Blake in the quarter final in straight-sets, while Djokovic outperform Spaniard David Ferrer in the quarter final to set up his seventh match against Federer. Roger Federer is now in his quest to win his 13th grand slam title in the tournament, which would move within one of Pete Sampras’s highest 14 grand slam titles.

The Serbian, Novak Djokovic has already proved himself as a threat to Federer-Nadal duopoly in the tennis world. Winning three grand slam titles per year has become a rule to Federer, while wining the French Open title has become a fashion to Nadal for the last few years. Novak Djokovic’s intervene has made it difficult for both Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

Ahead of the match against Novak Djokovic, World no. 1 Federer must put his every effort to come through all the obstacles to come by from the Serbian. Federer has said that he is not interested to concentrate on anybody else. Rather, Federer wants to put on all of his focus in his game. He has also expressed that it will be interesting to see who chooses the right tactics.

Herald Sun reported:

"I usually concentrate on my own game. That's what has happened over the last few years," Federer said.

"If I need to adjust something, I do that during the match to play more aggressive or more defensive, playing counter-punching. You can always decide during the match.

"I used to concentrate much more on my opponent when I was younger. Where does he serve, what is his better wing? Right now it's all automatic.

"It's going to be a matter of who's going to come out of the blocks better and, after that, who's going to come back on the other guy. It's going to be interesting to see who chooses the right tactics," Federer said.

It is very natural that a player like Federer does not need to look to anybody else as far as his skill is concerned. He just needs to stick to his own game and play his natural game which has proven too much for his opponents. However, Novak Djokovic, to me, is someone different who Federer might need to think about. In fact, Federer suffered a defeat to the Serbian last year.

Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic faced each other six times in the past with Federer winning five times including the last year’s U.S. Open final. Novak Djokovic has had a breakthrough season in last year with finishing the year as world no. 3 in the raking. Novak Djokovic has already posed a threat saying that he can win the match.

The Globe and Mate reported:

"He's done a phenomenal job," Federer said yesterday. "Four Grand Slam semi-finals, I was never close to that at his age."

"They say the year after the breakthrough [going from No. 16 to No. 3 in 2007] is the most difficult but I'm feeling really, really good," he said. "I worked on my skills the past couple of weeks and changed my [racquet] strings. I'm playing with a lot of confidence."

"He has been the No. 1 player for a while," Djokovic said of Federer this week. "Players have started playing in a different way against him, with more belief they can win. It's a good thing for all of us."

Djokovic is one of the youngsters who are though to be the future great of tennis. That is what you can realize in his speech as well, finding enough maturity. There is no doubt; Roger Federer would be considered as favorite for the match. The achievements he received in his illustrious career would convince anybody to bet on him. However, I think, Novak Djokovic is full of potential and what makes me impressed about him is that he has been improving in every match. So, I would not be surprised to see if Novak Djokovic plays in the final of Australian Open 2008 tournament.

US Open 2007: Why Novak Djokovic is So Popular?

Novak Djokovic is undoubtedly one of the rising stars of the tennis world. Novak Djokovic has not won any Grand slam yet but the way he has been playing, it seems that he is going to be the next beg star of Tennis. Djokovic has already reached at the US Open 2007 semi final. Now, the question is that why he is so popular.

Today, I got a short article in AP Blog where writer says there are two reasons behind his popularity and that is his personality. The writer also indicates an incident behind her opinion. I want to share it with you below:

Just two big reasons why Novak Djokovic has become a favorite among tennis fans.
When he walked off the practice court Friday at the U.S. Open, he was met by a large group of fans — and the Serb stopped to chat and sign autographs.
At one point, Djokovic stopped a group of young kids and invited them to, "High-five me!"
They jumped at the chance.

Well, it is true that this Serbian star has a kind and childish mind that impresses his fans. Recently, Novak Djokovic showed his entertaining capability during his quarter final match. In the match, Djokovic tried to pretend to be Sharapova and Nadal. He tried to do what Sharapova and Nadal do during their matches. Later, he admitted that he had tried to entertain the fans and he had no intention to make fan of Sharapova or Nadal.

Anyway, it seems that Novak Djokovic is getting popular in both on and off the court. He also said that he is trying to enjoy the tennis. So, it seems he wants to go a long way in his career and wants to enjoy it from the beginning.

US Open 2007: Novak Dokovic Reaches at the Semi Fi

Tournament favorite Novak Dokovic has reached at the semi final round of US Open 2007. This is going to be the third consecutive grand slam semi final for this Serbian tennis star as he also reached at the semi final round of French Open and Wimbledon this year. In the quarter final match, Novak Dokovic defeated Spaniard Carlos Moya by 6-4, 7-6 (7), 6-1. Dokovic was not so impressive in the first set. However, he came back winning the second set of the match and he won the last set very easily. Novak Dokovic will play against Spanish David Ferrer in his semi final match.

Canadian Press reported:
"I'm really happy that the people accept it in a positive way. I'm not trying to make fun of Maria or Rafa or anybody else," Djokovic said. "Just trying to make the people laugh and have a good time, you know, trying to enjoy the tennis on the court and off the court as well."

Besides his tennis success, he was also center of attention in the day because of his pretending the styles of Maria Sharapova and Rafael Nadal. Novak Dokovic continued it during the match to make people have fun. Actually, he has done it for the first time. I do not know how Sharapova and Nadal will accept it but I am sure, tennis fans have enjoyed it very much. Tennis skill, grand slam success; giving entertainment; What’s next from Novak Dokovic?

US Open 2007: Novak Dokovic Reaches at the Fourth Round

Serbian top seed Novak Dokovic has entered into the fourth round of US Open 2007. This third ranked tennis star projected an easy win over his Argentine opponent Juan Martín del Potro in the third round match. Novak Dokovic won the match by three direct sets. After winning a close five-set match in the second round, Novak Dokovic could win his third round match by 6-1, 6-3 and 6-4. So, you can see that how much dominance Novak Dokovic had in the match.

Novak Dokovic is one of the strong contenders of the US Open 2007. Many also think that he is the only person who can stop Roger Federer. It is actually worthless to mention that Novak Dokovic won an ATP tour tournament defeating Federer in the final match. So, suddenly the whole world has started thinking off Novak Dokovic as the new opponent of Roger Federer.

Novak Dokovic is now 20 and he has played his first grand slam tournament this year in Australian Open. From then on, he continued his improvement. In French Open and Wimbledon, Novak Dokovic reached at the semi final round. So, his fans are now hoping to see him lifting the US Open 2007 title. Serbian rising tennis star Novak Djokovic has won his second round marathon match against Radek Stepanek. In the four hours forty four minute match has become the longest match in US Open history after 1979. I think, Novak Djokovic could not realize that he would have to face such a strong challenge from his Czech Republican opponent. Out of five sets, three were decided in tie breaker. So, you can realize how much competitiveness was there in the match.

Novak Djokovic is one of the strong contenders of US Open 2007 title. To many, he is thought to be the only player to stop the dominance of Roger Federerin world tennis. Just before the US Open 2007, Novak Djokovic won an ATP tournament defeated Roger Federer in the final. So, it was well enough to expect something special from Novak Djokovic.

The close win does not mean that Novak Djokovic has lost his rhythm. Up to quarter final, Novak Djokovic will not face any strong opponents. So, the fans of Novak Djokovic can still hold their dream to see a Roger Federer vs Novak Djokovic final in US Open 2007.

What about Novak Djokovic in US Open Tennis 2007? Some people are thinking about Federer-Nadal final. So, where does Djokovi stand in this calculation in US Open 2007? This is a difficiult question to answer. I think that he will play well in US open. Djokovic is becoming a matured player very fast and if he can keep his form then he will be a threat for any player in US Open 2007.

The Age wrote:

Peter Johnston is the tournament director who lured Djokovic to play the ATP's Next Generation Adelaide International in January. "Three years ago, we received a request from Dejan Petrovic, a South Australian who is now captain of the Serbian Davis Cup team for a qualifying wildcard for Novak," Johnston says. "We rejected the request as we were looking to provide the Aussies with the wildcard opportunities. Three years later, Mark Woodforde and I were chasing him trying to get him as a headline attraction for the 2007 event. We were able to secure his appearance last October, when his ranking was 12 in the world, but even then we were conscious that very few Aussies knew who he was."

Thus, it is clear that Djokovic is improving very fast and he has the potential to become the top player in the world. Now, we have to see how he performs in US Open 2007.
