US Open 2007: Nikolay Davydenko Gets into the Semi Final

Nikolay Davydenko has ensured his second US Open semi final appearance on Wednesday. Fourth seed Nikolay Davydenko has defeated Tommy Haas of Germany by direct three sets. Nikolay Davydenko was excellent in the match. To tell the truth, Tommy Haas could not show any resistant against Nikolay Davydenko. French Open semi finalist Davydenko won the match by Davydenko.

For this Russian star, this is going to be the second semi final of the year. Davydenko also reached at the semi final round of last US Open in 2006. So, this time he will definitely try to bring about something bigger. However, in the semi final round, Davydenko has to face world no. 1 and reigning champion Roger Federer. US Open 2007: Roger Federer Reaches at the Semi Final

Roger Federer is now just two matches away from fourth consecutive US Open title which will be an open era record. No. 1 ranked Roger Federer defeated another favorite Andy Roddick to reach at the semi final round of US Open 2007. Though Federer won the match in direct three sets, it was not too easy for him to beat the 5th seed Andy Roddick. Federer won the match by 7-6 (7/5), 7-6 (7/4), 6-2. So, you can see, first two set were decided though tie breaker.

Both the stars played very well in the match and their serves were excellent in the match. However, Federer was in his top form. You know that when Federer is in his prime form, he can not give any chance to his opponent. The same thing happened in the quarter final match against Andy Roddick.
