It is also one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed movies in Indian cinema. The movie was directed by K. Asif. The music of this movie is composed by famous music director Naushad. This movie had a total of twenty songs but in order to keep it shorter many of the songs had been deleted. The lyrics of “Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya” was written by Shakeel Badayuni. It was sung by Lata Mangeshkar. An interesting thing about the song is that Naushad told Lata Mangeshkar to sing some portions of the song in bathroom in order to get an echo. Naushad used Indian classical music to compose the song. Raga Durga was used to compose the music of this track.
