Jack Wilshere: The Next Star of English Football

Arsenal prodigy Jack Wilshere is repotedly going to get his first start in England shirt today (Wednesday) when England faces Denmark in an international friendly at Copehagen. This is England’s first match in 2011, a year which would see the Three Lions playing a number of Euro qualifying matches to clinch a spot in Euro 2012.

Jack Wilshere has already made his England debut when he replaced Gerrard in the second half of the match against Hungary last August. This time it is expected that the 19-year-old would be in Fabio Capello’s starting eleven against Denmark. Capello has been full of praise for the Arsenal youngster, comparing the box-to-box midfielder with some of the great players he has managed like Maldini, Raul and Baresi.

Wilshere has been playing some excellent football since the start of this season and has earned admiration from many former legends. He is now considered as the next star of English football too. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has always admired his young student who though plays as a defensive midfielder has very good attacking intent too.

Wenger has also mentioned that Wilshere also prefers to go forward, but is currently playing in front of backline. The main thing is that he is a high quality footballer who is mobile and can take huge workload. Overall, it is pretty much understandable that Wilshere has a bright future with Arsenal and England.
