Duncan Fletcher says no team is hot favorite in 2011 World Cup

Less than one month is left to commence the biggest cricket even, ICC World Cup 2011. Cricket experts have already started predicting that which cricket team will win the trophy this year.

Former England coach, Duncan Fletcher, is one of them who talked about the probable teams that can win the title. According to him, there is no hot favorite for the 2011 World Cup Cricket. He also said that it would be an open World Cup.

It is really difficult to predict the winning team’s name as three teams are at their best form at this moment. These three teams are- India, South Africa and England.

Currently, these three teams are playing well in all format of cricket game and other teams are worry about their form.

India is one of the host countries to organize the ICC World Cup 2011. India is always a strong team in their home ground. So, it will be difficult for other teams to beat them in their home soil. But as a host team, they will put them under huge pressure also. No doubt, Indian players will take advantage from the spinning track as they have world class spinners like Harbhajan Singh and their players can play in slow wickets.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s Indian cricket team also showed their good form in South Africa. Despite losing the opening test match by an innings and huge margin, they could bounce back in the competition and level the three-match test series 1-1. It helps them to hold their top spot in the ICC Test team ranking.

England cricket team looks much confidence after defeating Australia on their home ground. They also won the Ashes trophy. Duncan Fletcher also said that England might find it difficult to bat on the spinning condition of the sub-continent because they didn’t play cricket on those types of wickets.

South Africa is another hot favorite team who will be a big threat for other participants in the tournament. Players like Jacques Kallis, AB de Villiers and Hashim Amla are now in their best form. May be, they will face the same kind of problem like England to play in slow wickets.

What about Australia? It is true that Australia is not in their prime form. They are passing a very tough time. But it will not be a good thing to misjudge them. They may do something well.

Fletcher also predicted that the role of spinners would be vital in this upcoming tournament.
