Chelsea to Offer Ross Turnbull to Sign Asmir Begovic from Stoke City

Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti is planning to offer Ross Turnbull in his bid to sign Stoke City keeper Asmir Begovic. Ancelotti currently has lack of faith on his current reserve goalkeepers Hilario and Turnbull.

Asmir Begovic has been in excellent form recently and Chelsea had a £4.5 million summer move turned down by Stoke City. Now, it is believed that Ancelotti will surely attempt to sign the 23-year-old Bosnia-Herzegovina international in the January transfer window.

Chelsea’s current no. 1 Peter Cech has been doing very well between the sticks but, the quality of his current understudies has been a serious concern for Ancelotti. Earlier this season, Hilario had some torrid time in goal while deputizing for injured Cech.

Ross Turnbull joined Chelsea from Middlesbrough in 2009 and currently comes third in the Chelsea pecking order. A tall English keeper, Turnbull represented England at U-20 level and was once thought to be England’s future no. 1. However, the 25-year-old could not flourish his potential over the last few years.

Chelsea is currently leading the point table in Premier League and they are hot favorite in Europe too. As Chelsea is determined to attempt to win all the titles coming their way, it is understandable that Ancelotti would require a reliable understudy for Peter Cech in the long journey.

Given his current form, Asmir Begovic could be the perfect choice for the Blues. So, it is expected that Chelsea boss would make another attempt to secure Begovic’s service.
