Roy Hodgson is targeting Premier League and UEFA Champions League

Liverpool’s new coach, Roy Hodgson, does not want the club to compete at the Europa League. Instead he is aiming for the Premier League. At present, Liverpool’s financial condition is not good and they can not buy players like other Premiere league clubs such as Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Moreover, the top players of the club are now in vacation and the club’s sports scientists warned him that if he uses up the top line of the club now they would not be able to continue throughout the season. As a result, Hodgson is now looking into the reserve players of the club.

Recently, Liverpool acquired Joe Cole and Milan Jovanovic on free transfers. It also signed up 18-year old centre-back, Danny Wilson for £2m. Now, Hodgson is looking for a left-back and attacking player to help Fernando Torres.

Rumor is out that Liverpool is going after Manchester United’s defender Wayne Bridge and A.C. Milan’s Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. If it is true then Liverpool would have to spend than its budget.

As most of the players of Liverpool are still on leave, Hodgson has not met them players. He is now working with reserve bench players.

Hodgson is targeting the premiere league and if Liverpool can finish in the top four, it would go to the Champions League next season.
