MLS All-Stars team consists of the best players of Major League Soccer (MLS). Players are chosen by the votes of fans, players, coaches, general managers, and the MLS All-Star head coach and MLS commissioner. Since 2005, MLS All-Star teams have been facing an international club every year with Manchester United being the opponent this year.

Manchester United already played three friendly matches on their North America tour 2010. They first defeated Celtic in Toronto before winning over Philadelphia Union. However, the Red Devils lost to a 10-man Kansas City side in their recent showdown.

However, the Premier League giants are now determined to bounce back against the MLS All-Stars side. A victory over the All-Stars would boost up United’s confidence level ahead of the upcoming season.

It is pretty much clear that Manchester United is going to face a tough challenge from the MLS All-Stars team which includes the star players like US internationals Landon Donovan and Edson Buddle, both of whom recently represented their country at the World Cup in South Africa.

Los Angles Galaxy star Landon Donovan has the previous experience of playing in Premier League as he spent the second half of the last season on loan to Everton. So, his Premier League experience would help the All-Stars team. A vastly experience player, Donovan has already represented USA in 127 international matches.

Donovan’s Galaxy teammate Edson Buddle has been in impressive form as he is currently the leading goal scorer with 12 goals to his credit in the ongoing MLS season.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has all the reasons to be worried about. First of all, MLS All Stars team has some highly experienced quality players. Secondly, United is currently without the first choice players like Rio Ferdinand, Wayne Rooney, Evra, Vidic, Owen, Ji-sung Park and some others. Thirdly, Darren Fletcher and John O'Shea picked up two minor knocks during the match against Kansas City and could miss the MLS All-Stars match.

It is sure Ferguson would feature his best possible eleven on Wednesday. The experienced first choice players like Edwin van der Sar, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, in-from Dimitar Berbatov would be in the starting line up.

Fletcher and O'Shea would also make the first eleven, if they can recover from their injury problems in time. However, the good news is that new signing Javier Hernandez has joined the Manchester United squad at Houston on Tuesday.

Overall, football fans are expecting a highly entertaining affair at the closed roof Reliant Stadium. The Premier League side would not like to suffer another defeat, while the MLS stars would be looking to clinch a remarkable victory over one of Europe’s best clubs.
