Espanyol Revealed its interest for Maxi Rodriguez

Liverpool winger, Maxi Rodriguez, is the new target of RCD Espanyol as La Liga is coming up.

Rodriguez joined Liverpool in January 2010 leaving Atlético Madrid. He has still three years left in his contract with Liverpool but Espanyol thinks that it can persuade Liverpool as the club is under financial pressure.

Already, two of the top players of Liverpool- Javier Mascherano and Dirk Kuyt, have been picked up Inter Milan if reports are to be true. Mascherano’s leaving is already confirmed as he had been reported to talk with Liverpool coach, Roy Hodgson, about leaving the club on July 26, 2010.

Rodriguez played for Espanyol for three seasons starting from 2002 to 2005. Espanyol is now looking forward to regain their former player. The club is talking with Rodriguez’s agent.

Money would be the biggest obstacle for RCD Espanyol. According to Spanish sports daily, El Mundo Deportivo, Liverpool might ask for a hefty transfter fee to RCD Espanyol. Hence, the club might be looking for an “initial loan deal” with Liverpool with an option to sign up Rodriguez by the end of the season.

Maximiliano Rubén Rodríguez, popularly known as "Maxi" Rodríguez was born on January 2, 1981 in Rosario, Santa Fe. An Argentinian footballer, Rodríguez started his carrier at Newell’s Old Boys in the Argentine League. He played for the club for three seasons. During this time, he played in the prestigious Argentine League.
