Bastian Schweinsteiger takes Argentina as weak opponent in the FIFA World Cup Quarter-final

Ahead of the Saturday’s FIFA World Cup 2010 quarter-final match between Argentina and Germany a war of words has started where fans and experts are giving opinions to put their team as hot favorite. German midfielder, Bastian Schweinsteiger, is one of the players who joined the war of word by branding Diego Maradona's side disrespectful. He says,

“I find that the behaviour of the Argentinians on the pitch, how they gesticulate and how they try to influence the referee, is disrespectful.”

Bastian Schweinsteiger made his debut in a friendly match in Munich in March where Germany defeated Argentina by 1-0. He is yet to make any scored of this on going tournament but it is expected that he will sure to cause Argentina problems.

This is perhaps going to be the second meet between the two teams in World Cup competition. In the quarter-final of the 2006 World Cup, where Schweinsteiger was in the German team, Argentina lost to Germany by 4-2 on penalties at Berlin's Olympic Stadium. However, the host country, Germany, went on to finish third position at the tournament.

However, this match was remembered for the clash between the players and officials that took place immediately after the shoot-out. Germany players are looking to repeat their performance once again. On the other hand, Argentina will be looking for taking revenge for their defeat in the last World Cup.

Germany football team looks much stronger against Argentina as they defeated England by 4-1 in the round of 16. Schweinsteiger is hopeful about the victory over Argentina at Green Point Stadium in Cape Town and they must not be frightened by Argentina.

Fans around the world will be looking to see what method Diego Maradona will apply to win the match against Germany. No doubt, Argentina football team didn’t face any strong team like Germany in this on going tournament. So, the match between Argentina and Germany will be the most exciting match.

Both teams will try hard to win the match at any cost. Winning the match means make sure the place in the next round. To make sure the place in the semi-final round both teams will show their best game.
