Wayne Rooney Looking to Return for Sunderland Game

Wayne Rooney is always known as a team man who plays for the team first before playing for himself. It seems that he is going to prove it once again. The English star picked up a groin injury during practice last Tuesday and missed the 3-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur. Since then, there was speculation that he would miss Manchester United’s last two games of the season. Both the games are important for Manchester United as they are currently one point behind the leader Chelsea. So, they have to win both the games and expect a slip-up for Chelsea who are going to face Liverpool this weekend.

Rooney was advised to take rest with world cup football coming up next. However, considering the situation of the league, he is now reportedly trying to make a quick come back for Sunday’s match against Sunderland. Few weeks back, he made a similar come back from an ankle injury just before suffering the groin injury.

Well, this could be good news for the Manchester United fans, but England supporters would be worried about it because if he rushes himself for a quick come back and then suffers another injury, he could even miss England’s world cup mission.
