Young Arsenal striker Fran Merida could leave the London club to move to Atletico Madrid in January transfer window. The player has reportedly agreed a five-year deal with the Spanish club in his bid to get more first team football. However, his possible exit is yet to be officially confirmed by the two clubs. Merida joined Arsenal in 2007 when he was a trainee in Barcelona youth side. Fran Merida has recently turned down a new Arsenal offer as he wants to settle down in his home county Spain. Atletico Madrid perhaps sees Merida as the replacement of their Argentine striker Sergio Agüero who is now the target of a number of European clubs.
