West Ham 1 - 1 Chelsea: 20 December 2009

West Ham fans are perhaps some disappointed that they did not get the full 3 points. Still, their players played toe to toe with mighty Chelsea and earned a much needed point. This draw does not change anything at the top table because yesterday, Manchester United lost their match against Fulham.
Alessandro Diamant scored the first goal of the match from penalty at 45 minutes and in half time, West Ham was leading by 1-0. In the second half, Chelsea players were determined to get a goal and the goal came at the 61 minutes through a penalty and it was Lampard who got the goal and ensured 1 point for Chelsea.
It was a physically tough match and 7 players were shown yellow cards from the two teams (4 for West Ham while Manchester United the other 3).
With this draw, West Ham is now in the 19th position (second from bottom) with 15 points. On the other hand, Chelsea is at the number one position with 41 points. Both the clubs have played 18 matches so far.
