Liverpool and Manchester United: January 2010 Transfer Rumors

Liverpool is going through some tough time at the moment and they would certainly try their best to strength the squad for the second half of the season. Real Madrid striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has been linked with a move to the Merseyside club. Erik Huseklepp of Brann could also move to Liverpool in January, even though Wigan Athletic and Hull City are also in the race to secure his service. Manager Rafael Benitez is also interested to buy the experienced Emile Heskey. Aiden McGeady of Celtic, Luca Toni of Bayern, Eljero Elia of Hamburg and Arda Turan of Galatasaray are also linked with a move to Liverpool.

Manchester United has been going smoothly, except some hiccups, since the departure of Ronaldo, but it is not yet certain that they are going to spend heavily in January. They would definitely have their own share of deals in January. In fact, the club has reportedly been linked with a number of players so far. Nani could leave Old Trafford, if any clubs make realistic bid for the winger. Benfica winger Angel di MarĂa could be his possible replacement.

  1. Please we the fans here in nigeria are not happy the way Sir, Alex is now handling the affairs of old traford. how could he sell Ronald and Tavez without bringing in quality player like then only to bring a death player (Owen). if Owen is a good player, let Liverpool resign him since he labour so much for them. to avoid religation, please ferguson should please do something before our anger gets out of control.

Please Sign Hulk of FC Portor for us or bring David Silver from valencia.

    thank you.

mate you aint no tru man united fan if you write such, fergie knows best. ronaldo wanted to go to real at some point and all the man united players knew that from day 1. yes we are not as strong as previous years but i thik owen has not let us down for the price we got him for, remember manchester derby injury time? im fed up of fans that talk a lot but dont know much about the football club they support. Er're second in the league without ronaldo and tevez and you thikn sir alex dont know what he is doing? mate start buying more replica shirts and then have your say

we all believe in fergie .... on ronaldo ... how can you stop a player who want's to go and we got good money for it . Owen was one of the better deals this summer for MAN U .
what i would really like is to have a top class striker partereing Rooney .... Berba is struggling and we cannot afford it as we move into a critical phase of premier league

I think Nani may go, as he has done more shooting with his gob, than his feet of late. And when you aim a verbal volley at SAF, then the only flying wingers you are goin to see are those that fly you the f**k out of manchester.

who are the potential transfers for manu in jan.there is not much need for sir alex to buy but nani has been out of form, berba has not been that good.is he going to bring in any defenders since most of the defenders have recovered from there injuries. can we see a big money deal in jan or is sir alex going to wait till the summer to buy.

ok seriously MAN U are a crap team they are lucky, and the REFS always give them that little bit of extra time here or there, or give fergie a call if he complains enough! MAN U obviously need some good signings and soon. REFS are not being as one sided when it comes to MAN U now and you can see that by some of the results in 2009. Time to wake up and smell the coffe MAN U fans your team is not as good as you all think....

fergie might not buy defenders but we NEED to buy strikers and GK and DEFENDERS cos all man utds defenders are injured and the only healed defenders are wes brown and nearly ferdinand

I think man u havent got the talent needed to matain strong opposition to chelsea. If chelsea dnt drop much points while drogba and essien are in the africa cup of nations they will easilly win the league.they have more talented players and have more experinced and better players on the bench.United need to sign a strong powerfull striker (benzema dzeko) they also need a real playmaker in the center some1 like ineasta or alonso also a new keeper and a pacey centerhalf. They need to sign these eitheir in january or in the summer or chelsea will just stay ahead of united as a talented team but i think man u have a better team spirt also sir alex shud sell nani and anderson der muck and buy a couple of players that have the quality to step in and grab the premier league by the neck and take controll. Sir alex u need to replace the goals that ronaldo and tevez gave u and owen is not the man to do that

By the way im a true man u fan cause i may seem a little biased toward chelsea but i do think chelsea have the better squad and united need to strenghten in the areas i previously mentioned
    Big G :)

The bottom line is that rooney needs some help upfront.he needs a striking partner coz whenever they open up the opponents defence, the finishing is lacking.best choice would be david villa.

they have signed diouf a 22 year old scentre triker, the new number 32 for manchester united
he is now registered with epl.

SAF says he ill be influential..

actually they need a mid fielder thats it
berba is struggling but still is a impirtant factor for the team..

    ribery is a perfect replacement.

MAN U SHOULD BUY FRED,SEBASTIAN FREY,DAVD VILLA,DI MARIO AND MANY MOR COS MAN U IS SINKING DEEP WITHOUT RONALDO AND TEVEZ + VAN DER SAR IS INJURED AND KUZCHACK NEEDS TO REST AND BEN FOSTER IS TOO YOUNG TO PLAY AGAINST THE ENTIRE PREM

I have supported this club for 20 years and during that time, wenever we were successful we had creative players and a out-and-out striker.
We have been linked with David Silva of Valencia who can reignite creativity. David Villa is the type of quality striker we need at man united. I would agree with many and say that ribery would be a great replacement for ronaldo. In goal we have been linked with hugo lloris and frey. Whenever man united had success we always had a quality keeper, when we had bad seasons we usually had a atrocious keeper.

the thing i like about man utd is no matter how many times they lose they always come back to life + man utd are getting buried badly cos first of all we dont have much players half the MAN UTD team is man utd reserves and youth

I believe that we definnetly need Hugo Lloris he is an absoulte awsum goalkeeper, look at MAn UTD history everytime we have won something we have had a good goalkepper time to bring in some young and brilliant from Lyon

I DO AGREE WITH SOME OF THE COMMENTS THAT I'VE READ.... DAVID SILVA MAY BE WHAT WE NEED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PARK, BUT WHAT ABOUT FLECTHER AND CARRICK.... WE NEED AT LEASE TWO DEFENCSIVE MIDFEILERS INCASE OF AN INJURY TO ONE OF THEM...WE ALSO NEED AN OUT AND OUT STRIKER LIKE DAVID SILVA TO PARTNER ROONDEY, BUT WE STILL NEED AN OTHER STRIKER TO COME OFF THE BENCH (who will that be? HULK'S THAT MAN... AND GO WITH FRANK RIBERY OR ANGLE DI MARIA OUT ON THE WINGS.WE DONT NEED NO MORE DEFFENDERS AS LONG AS THE ONES WE HAVE ARE FIT... WE STILL NEED NANI AND PARK ANDERSON AND COMPANY, THE PRIMERSHIP IS VERY LONG AND INJURIERS WILL HAPPEN.

    Anonymus...

I agree to most of the coments that we need some quality player to fill the gap left the Ronaldo & Trevz however, looking the financial condition of the club where the club owners are more looking to curb down the dept I don't think Sir Alex will if he is not within the 12m euro bond else he will continue to blosom the youngsters. if my understanding is correct then i think we will not win any cup this season. May be next or next or next season...

  24. Anonymous2:52 PM

Yep I do agree to the above point, I hear Club owners are planing to sell the MANU stadium & even Rooney to clear some dept. With all the rumours in the market i doubt Sir Alex will beat Liverpools record of most number of titles. All Manutd fans sorry to say no Cup this season, may be Manutd is following Arsenals footstep of developing youngster rather than wining titles..

no signings for man u , lol with the huge debt that the glazers has , same w/ lfc , sad these clubs are getting destroyed by americans. i can see chelsea and arsenal fighting for the title , for the next 5 seasons ,with lfc and manu competing for 3rd and 4th , if thats is they sell their stars.
