The most exciting news for Indian cricket fans is that their favorite team is now taking at the top position of ICC Test ranking. For their superb performance against Sri Lanka in the test series, India became the world number 1 team. Players of the winning team were rewarded by BCCI for this achievement. However, the most important fact is that how long India can remain this position. I don’t know how long they can continue their dominance. Indian cricket team and supporting stuffs expect that they can finish 2009 as top ranked team. South Africa is just behind India. They are two points less from top ranked team. So, I can see that only South Africa can overtake India if they can win any test series. South Africa will play a 4-match Test series against England. Their test series will start from 16th December 2009.
However, India will not play any test series this year. So, they will hope that either England won the series or finish the series with draw.
You may know that India will play a 2-match T20 series against Sri Lanka which will start from 9th December at Nagpur. It is the time chance for Sri Lanka team to take revenge. On the other hand, India will try hard to enhance their position in T20 ranking.
