Ruud van Nistelrooy Looking to Join Liverpool in January Transfer Window 2009

Real Madrid’s Dutch forward Ruud van Nistelrooy is now interested to join Liverpool in January transfer window. Reports also claim that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is also interested to sign the player. However, given Arsenal current forward line up, it is less likely that Ruud van Nistelrooy will be able to get enough first team football at the North London club.

The Netherlands international is now looking to get more first team football as he has his sight on getting into next year’s world cup squad of Netherlands. That is why, he now wants a move to Liverpool who are struggling for form both in Champions league and Premier league. In fact, Liverpool is currently without their prime striker Fernando Torres who is currently out of action with injury. So, Liverpool is also interested to get the service of an experienced striker like Nistelrooy.

However, it seems that Real Madrid is not interested to let him move in January, even though the club is not giving him enough chances in the regular squad. However, a desperate Nistelrooy could force a move in January transfer window because he needs to perform regularly to claim his place back in the Netherlands squad and for that he needs to play regularly.
