Mohanlal is one of the biggest stars of Malayalam movie industry and he is also know as an ardent cricket fan. The actor wants to follow the footsteps of the Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Shilpa Shetty who are the owners of IPL franchises. However, nothing has been finalized yet as the actor has just revealed his wish.
BCCI has already indicated that next year’s IPL could feature couple of new teams. So, it seems that Mohanlal could attempt to take part in the bidding for the new IPL franchises. There is every possibility that IPL authority could come up with a new IPL franchise based on Kerala from where Mohanlal hails. He has a huge fan base in the state and IPL authority would like to have him as the Kerala franchise owner because his involvement in the team would create an interest among the cricket fans in the Kerala franchise of IPL.
Now, let us see if Mohanlal really becomes the owner of IPL Kerala team next season and joins other movie stars in IPL.
