Neo Cricket Buys BCCI TV Rights until 2014

Neo Cricket TV channel has extended its television deal with BCCI for 4 more years starting from 2010 to 2014. To clinch the rights, Neo Cricket has to pay Rs. 2000 crores to BCCI. That means, India’s per home match will cost the channel 31.5 crores. Initially, Neo Cricket will have to pay Rs. 660 crores as the guarantee money in order to ensure the deal with BCCI.

Neo Cricket, owned by Nimbus Communication Pvt Ltd, also holds the current TV rights of India’s home matches under the current deal which expires in March 2010. The channel is comparatively new and has not reached every corner of the country. So, Neo Cricket should also try to extend its coverage in India.
