Chelsea Transfer Ban: Blessing for Owner Roman Abramovich

FIFA has recently put a two-year transfer ban on Chelsea as they lured Gael Kakuta to come out of his contract with Lens to join Stamford Bridge. By this ban, Chelsea will not be allowed to buy or sell any player until 2011. No doubt, the news came as a shock to many Chelsea players. However, it seems that this ban could turn out to be blessing for the club owner Roman Abramovich who has already spent about £600 million at Chelsea by signing star players like Didier Drogba. Now that Chelsea can not buy or sell any new players, Abramovich does not need to spend any big amount for signing new payers over the next two years.

Roman Abramovich has suffered a lot because of economic recession and the amount of wealth he possesses has been decreased significantly. Naturally, the FIFA ban came as a big relief for the Russian billionaire.
