Can India Bounce Back against Sri Lanka in the Tri-Nation Series Final?

It is a big question whether Indian cricket team can bounce back strongly in the Compaq Cup 2009 final against host Sri Lanka. India was severely beaten by Sri Lanka on Saturday by 139 runs. Batting is thought to be strongest side of Indian team, but having seen the match, it looked something different.

India got all out only for 168 runs and the match was almost finished midway through the Indian innings. So, it is pretty much clear that Sri Lanka was the dominant side in the game and the way Indian batsmen batted while chasing a big target of 308, India was never firmly in control of the game.

Now, India is going to face Sri Lanka in the final on Monday and there is no doubt, hosts Sri Lanka is full of confidence ahead of the match. It is true that India is missing two of their key batsmen: Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir. Still, Indian batting line up includes the players like Tendulkar, Dhoni, Yuvraj, Raina and Dravid who all won India matches. So, missing the two openers could not be an excuse for Indian team.

I think, India can make a strong come back given the talents India has in the team. They know it very well that they are under pressure and they are left with no other option of winning the final in order to come out of pressure. Moreover, Indian batsmen should not be struggling in Sri Lankan condition which is pretty much similar to Indian condition.
