Manchester United Lost to Fulham 2-0 with Scholes, Rooney Sent off

Manchester United suffered their second straight premier league defeat on Saturday as they lost 2-0 at Fulham. No doubt, the result appeared as an utter shock to the Red Devils fans who were looking for a big-margin victory in order to forget the memory of last week’s 4-1 home defeat at the hands of Liverpool.

Fulham took on Manchester United at Craven Cottage with their recent FA Cup defeat to the premier league leader in FA Cup bright in mind. Fulham not only took revenge over Manchester United, but also handed the Ferguson boys another morale-denting defeat. Manchester United’s suffering was aggravated as Paul Scholes and Wayne Rooney were shown red card during the match. It was perhaps the worst night for Manchester United this season. Danny Murphy put Fulham ahead in the match before Zoltan Gera doubled the lead.

Despite the defeat, Manchester United still holds 4 points lead at the top of the premier league table with 65 points from 29 matches. Still, they are in a safe position from Chelsea and Liverpool, but another setback could bring them in the level of two other title contenders in the point table.
