Matches of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2009 will be telecast live on Sony television. Sony signed a 10-year contract with BCCI for IPL TV rights last year and earned a whopping Rs 350 crore by selling television ad during the tournament. As per the 10-year deal, Sony was supposed to broadcast IPL matches for this season too. However, BCCI recently initiated a new contract for the IPL television rights and BCCI even claimed that it had signed a contract with World Sports Group (WSG)-
Now, the recent news available in the media suggests that Multi Screen Media Pvt Ltd, the parent company of Sony TV, has managed to settle the matter with BCCI out of court with the broadcasters paying $1.026 billion to BCCI for a 10-year period. So, you can now watch the exciting matches of IPL 2009 live on Sony television channel.
