England vs West Indies T20 2009: Time, Venue and Live TV Information

(This entry was originally published on Sunday, March 15th, 2009)

England and West Indies are going to face each other in the only Twenty20 match today (15 March). Following the test series victory, West Indies looks to continue their success over the visiting English team. England regained a big part of their confidence that they lost in the humiliating defeat in the first test. However, England will definitely try to win the Twenty20 match before the ODI series gets underway. A victory in the only T20 mach would be the best preparation for both sides for the upcoming ODI series.

Time

The seemingly exciting match kicks off at 14:00 local time in Trinidad. According to GMT time, the match starts at 18:00. Though Twenty20 matches are generally held in the evening, this match will be held in the afternoon. I do not know the reason behind it, but I guess, GMT 18:00 is the perfect time for the English cricket fans to enjoy the match and that is why, the match is going to be held in the afternoon.

Venue

The match will be held at the Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad. In fact, this will be the first Twenty20 international at this ground. Queen’s Park Oval wicket usually assists the batsmen. So, you can expect a run-flooded Twenty20 in the ground today. However, rain has been forecast today and it could be a rain-affected match. The match will take place in the afternoon, so you can not expect any evening assistance for the bowlers.

Live on Television

Twenty20 matches are always very exciting with flurry of big hits being shot around the wicket. The match between West Indies and England is expected to be no different. The match will be telecast live on Ten Sports television channel. Ten Sports is one of the popular channels in Asia. So, if you are currently in Asia and do not want to miss the match, you can enjoy the match live on Ten Sports.
