Arsene Wenger Opened 2009-10 Season with 6-1 Victory Over Arsenal

All the credit much go to Arsene Wenger. There was repeated criticism again him that he did not spend enough money. He replied that it is time his young team becomes matured and today, they showed some sense of maturity. Arsenal defeated Everton in the opening match of the season by 6-1. It is perhaps the best opening day score for the Gunners in many years and it was totally a team effort. Everyone played very well and joined force to make Wenger proud in an away match. Today, they showed that they would not be overpowered by others this season.

The match started boringly and in the first 20 minutes, there was no real attack. Denilson opened the account for his team and then in the first half, Vermalean and Gallas both scored with header from freekicks. Then in the second half, Fabregas scored two goals. Then, it was Eduardo who could score the 6th goal. The only consolation goal for Everton came in the dying moments.

It was a superb victory. The only thing that made Arsenal fans sad was that Arshevin did not get any goal. Well, his shot hit the bar and Eduardo did the 6th goal.
