Manchester City Signed Wayne Wayne Bridge from Chelsea for an Undisclosed Fee

It was earlier reported that Manchester City was linked with a move for Chelsea’s left back Wayne Bridge. Well, ending all the rumors, Manchester City has signed the English international for an undisclosed fee which could reportedly be 12 million pounds. Bridge was not getting enough first team football at Chelsea because of the presence of fellow England team mate Ashley Cole who is also the big challenge for Bridge in England national team. So, looking for more first team football, Wayne Bridge has moved to newly rich Manchester City for a 4 and half year deal. If the reports available in British dailies are to be believed, Bridge might have become the highest paid fullback in the world, though it is not official confirmed.

Manchester City has suddenly found buckets of money to spend in transfer market after the club’s Arab takeover. City broke British transfer record signing Brazilian striker Robinho from Real Madrid on the last day of the Summer transfer window, even though Chelsea was ahead in the race to land the Brazilian international. Manchester City also signed English midfielder Shaun Wright-Phillips from Chelsea during Summer transfer window.
