Califlornia Bank Golf Tournament raised $150,000 for the Boys & Girls Club of West Valley

On December 18, 2008, California United Bank (OTC:CUNB), announced that its Second Annual California Bank Golf Tournament was able to collected $1,50,000 for the Boys & Girls Club of the West Valley California. This is the highest amount ever raised through a golf tournament by any San Fernando Valley-based non-profit organization. It is also single largest fund raising event in the club’s history. Last year, the golf tournament raised $137,000. Market Watch reports:

“CUB is just three years old, yet we have already made a positive mark on our community,” commented David I. Rainer, President and CEO of California United Bank, who is also a member of the Club’s Board of Directors. “We are very proud to be able to assist the Boys & Girls Club and look forward to our continued association with the Club. We want to especially thank all of our friends, customers, business associates, and employees who contributed to this success.

Through the tournament the Boys & Girls Club was able to raise $300,000 and the money was used to support the club. The Boys & Girls Club is aimed at providing safe, affordable, educational and productive activities for vulnerable young children during non-school hours.
