Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka 2nd Test 2009: First Day

(This entry was originally published on Friday, January 2nd, 2009)

Good performance from Bangladeshi cricket players in the first test encouraged the fans and they started to dream that their national team will cause a massive upset in the second best. However, at the end of the first day stay long can players have but perhaps destroyed the dream of the pans about this test. The Bangladeshi bowlers did not bowlers badly but unfortunately, some of the Sri Lankan batsmen played too well and at the end of the first day, Sri Lanka score was 371/6. One man made all the difference between the two teams and he was TM Dilshan who scored 162 runs.

Among the Bangladeshi bowlers, Mashrafe Mortaza captured two wickets but others fail to report any kind of pressure on Sri Lanka. So, tomorrow will be an important day for Bangladesh as they will have to fast that are the remaining four wickets and then scored some decent amount of runs just to stay alive in the second test.
