Arsenal Found their Title Bid Back on Track after Defeating Chelsea 2-1

Arsenal has refurbished their title challenge in premier league with an inspiration victory over leader Chelsea on Sunday. Going into the match on the back of two league defeats, Arsenal was trailing 1-0 at the halftime and it seemed it was going to be the end of their title race. However, Arsenal forward Robin van Persie had something different in his mind as the Dutch star scored twice in between 4 minutes during the second half. So, at the end of the day, Arsenal emerged winner 2-1 and moved into the top four with 26 points from 15 matches. Chelsea remains at the top with 33 points, but Liverpool can go three points clear of Chelsea if they can win over West Ham United tonight.

Arsene Wenger termed the victory as massive and wants his boys to keep the momentum going on in the weeks to come. Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has called for apology from match officials who, Scolari thinks, was responsible for his side’s second home defeat of the season. He complained that referee had denied Chelsea a goal in the match.

Well, whatever it is, the fact is that Arsenal has been back in the title race, while Chelsea received another blow in their title bid this season. Now, Chelsea can only pray for a Liverpool defeat to West Ham in order to keep their top place intact.
