Real Madrid Closes on David Villa Deal, Leaving Chelsea Behind

Real Madrid is now all set to bag a David Villa deal as reports out in the media suggest that the Spanish forward has already revealed his desire to stay in Spain next season. Valencia is currently facing a huge financial problem at this moment and it is most likely that the club would sell their biggest asset in Summer transfer window. Valencia has also been in talks with Real Madrid on a possible deal for David Villa who was the leading scorer of Euro 2008, and thus, helping Spain to win the title of the tournament last year.

Chelsea was in the run for clinching Villa’s service, but it is pretty much certain that Chelsea is now out of the race to sign David Villa. Real Madrid is attempting to sign big stars in Summer transfer window and in fact, they have already signed Kaka for a record transfer fee. Moreover, Real’s another record breaking offer has been accepted by Manchester United for their star player Cristiano Ronaldo. Chelsea recently sent their scout Juan Cruz Sol to meet Valencia president and talk about a possible deal for David Villa, but the club rejected Chelsea’s offer. Now, it is most likely that Real Madrid would be the next destination for David Villa.
