Leander Paes and Lukas Dlouhy: Doubles Champions of French Open 2009

Indian tennis star Leander Paes and Czech Republican Lukas Dlouhy defeated South African Wesley Moodie and Dick Norman of Belgium 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the doubles final at French Open 2009. This has been the fifth grand slam doubles title for Indian tennis star Leander Paes who earlier won the French Open doubles title on two occasions with fellow Indian tennis star Mahesh Bhupathi in 1999 and 2001.

However, this has been the first ever grand slam success for the 26-year-old Czech Republican Lukas Dlouhy. Naturally, it has been a big moment for Dlouhy. Paes- Dlouhy pair did not have a good start to the match as they lost the first set 3-6, but the pair bounced back to win the second set by the same margin, before clinching the third one more easily.

Leander Paes is now 35 and it is really something very remarkable to win a grand slam at this stage. The Indian tennis star has also won 4 mixed doubles titles in his career.
