Arsene Wenger in Fear of Manchester City?

From the title you might already understand what Arsenal manager is going to indicate, Yes, Arsene Wenger is now wary of Manchester City’s spending spree that, he believes, could give Manchester City a solid platform to go for the top four finish next season. They have reportedly £250 million in their purse to spend in Summer 2009 transfer market and they have already signed Gareth Barry from Aston Villa. That is why, Wenger guesses that the Eastlanders could target a Champions league spot next season. Arsenal, on the other hand, has only £13 million to spend in the transfer market. You do not need to become Einstein to understand the difference between the amount the two clubs had for buying players in Summer transfer window.

Well, to be honest with you, I do not think that Arsenal should need to be worried about it. They should not focus on star player in the transfer market. Rather, Wenger should go for young quality players who have not become big star yet, but could be pretty much effective in Arsenal’s style of game. Moreover, Arsenal should also ensure that none of their star players like Fabregas, Adebayor and Robin vs Persiem, who all are now targets of other big clubs in Europe, move away from Emirates stadium in Summer. However, Wenger should buy couple of young talented players who could be ready to serve right away, and thus, the Arsenal squad would have the much-needed depth in their squad. Over the last couple of seasons, Arsenal has been suffering a lot from injury. Specially, during the busy phase of the time, Wenger did not have many quality players to rotate the squad in order to give rest to some of his top players.
