IPL 2009 has not seen any 200 plus innings form any team yet and most of the matches have been low-scoring compared to the first season of IPL last year. In fact, there was no centurion in the first 8 games of the tournament this season. However, IPL fans got to see a brilliant hundred from South African batsman AB de Villiers today in the ninth match of the competition.
AB de Villiers played a swashbuckling innings of 105 not out from just 54 balls with 5 boundaries and 6 over-boundaries. Along with Tillakaratne Dilshan, who scored 50 off 27 balls, de Villiers guided Delhi Daredevils towards a huge total of 189 after 20 overs. Chennai Super Kings innings stopped just 9 runs shot of
AB de Villiers was really ruthless against the Chennai bowlers and did not allow any Chennai bowler to go on top of him throughout the innings. AB de Villiers is always known as a big hitter, and once again, the 25-year-old proved his skill of scoring quickly.
