Samsung holds on to its leading position in the global monitor market with 16.5% market share in the second quarter of 2008. A survey conducted by the market research agency IDC revealed this information. Samsung’s biggest rival Dell secured 15.0% market share, while Hewlett-Packard (hp) and Acer ended up the second quarter with 10.5% and 10.2% market share respectively. LG Electronics finished the quarter with 9.8% of market share. Samsung has been leading the monitor market since third quarter of 2006.
Moreover, Samsung also leads the global LCD monitor market with 16.0% of market share for four quarters in a row. Dell takes the second place with 15.7% market share, while HP and Acer secure the third and fourth places with 10.8% and 9.5% respectively, followed by LG Electronics with 9.3% of market share of LCD monitor market.
Samsung has recently launched Crystal Design monitors which let the users to experience high definition images. The high resolution of Crystal Design monitors achieves pinpoint precision and blurring effects are eradicated.
