Manchester United Striker Dimitar Berbatov Ruled out for Two Matches with Hamstring Injury

Manchester Untied striker Dimitar Berbatov has been ruled out for two matches due to hamstring injury sustained while representing Bulgaria in a friendly against Serbia. He will now have to miss Manchester United’s against Aston Villa and Champions League match against Villarreal. Even, his expected return to action in next Sunday’s Manchester derby against Manchester City is doubtful too. Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has said that his injury is nothing serious. It is a slight strain, not a tear. So, Ferguson sees it as positive news.

The Canadian Press reported:

"It is a slight strain rather than a tear, so that is positive news," Ferguson said Friday.

"Fortunately we have plenty of cover at right back, with Gary Neville, Rafael Da Silva and John O'Shea available to come in," Ferguson said.

Manchester United is currently at the third position in the league table with 24 points from 12 matches. Chelsea is leading the point table with 32 points, even though they played one match more than Manchester United. So, Manchester United can not afford to lose any more point in premier league as they are already 8 points behind league leader Chelsea. So, missing Dimitar Berbatov, who joined the Old Trafford club for a record fee in the Summer, for at least two matches is a major concern for Manchester United. However, it is also true that Sir Alex Ferguson has lots of quality options to fill up the void in striking line up. The players like Wayne Rooney, Carlos Tevez are some of the best strikers of present day.
