Yaya Toure Admits Talks with Arsenal

Yaya Toure has said that he had talks with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger about a move to Arsenal in the January transfer window. His brother, Kolo Toure, is also trying to persuade him to make a move to Arsenal. However, Yaya has said that he is still happy at Barcelona, but his agent Dimitri Selluk indicated it clearly that if Yaya is not handed enough first team football at Barcelona then he is ready to make a move.

Northamptonchron reported:

Yaya is quoted by the Telegraph as saying: "Wenger and Kolo called in the summer to convince me about this chance - but at that moment I was happy at Barcelona."
Dimitri Selluk, Toure's representative, added: "Yaya does not have a problem with Barcelona, but his only desire is to play regularly and therefore he wants to see if he is in their plans."

Arsenal made a bid about £7.5m for Yaya Toure in the summer transfer, but Barcelona rejected it and Yaya did not show much interest that time. However, the Ivorian international has started only a few matches for Barcelona so far this season. So, Yaya Toure is still not in a position to refuse a possible move to the North London club in the January transfer window. Italian club Juventus is also in the race to sign the Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure.
