Liverpool Clinched a Superb 3-2 ‘Come-from-Back’ Victory over Manchester City

Liverpool defeated Manchester City 3-2 on Sunday. From the score line, you can guess that the match was full of attack-counter attack and exciting. But the truth is that it was more than edxciting. The two teams presented a mind-blowing match in which the Manchester City dominated the first half scoring two goals, then Liverpool scored three in the second half to ensure three important away points, but more than that, a confidence-booster victory.

Liverpool had to come back from 2-0 down to win the match. Two goals from Fernando Torres leveled the score before Dirk Kuyt scored the winning goal in stoppage time. Dirk Kuyt’s first goal of the season brought a celebrating occassion for the All Reds. Earlier in the first half, Manchester City played very well and scored twice thanks to Ireland and Garrido. However, the visiting side came back strongly in the second half and started dominating over City. Moreover, Manchester City suffered another setback as defender Pablo Zabaleta was sent off in the 67th minute of the match for a two-footed tackle. With this victory, Liverpool continues going head to head with Chelsea who are leading the point table only on goal difference. Both Liverpool and Chelsea have same 17 points from 7 matches so far this season.
