Jeremy Boga: 12-Year-Old Wonderboy Joins Chelsea

Premier League giant Chelsea signed French starlet Jeremy Boga recently. The 12-year-old French wonder boy joined the West London club in a move from ASPTT, a junior club based in Marseille. However, the details of the deal is still undisclosed.

Chelsea scout Guy Hillion, however, does not want to mention it as a transfer. Rather, Jeremy Boga’s family, Hillion said, took the final decision to send their son to London and grow up over there and develop his football skill at Chelsea. Moreover, Boga’s father works at London now and this was an influential factor behind the decision taken by Boga’s family, according to scout Guy Hillion.

Goal.com reported:

That is not a transfer, as the rules forbid it," Hillion told the Daily Express about the standout from junior side ASPTT.

"Chelsea took him because he has the talent to play at the highest level. He's an excellent number 10."

"We couldn't have signed Jeremy if Mr Boga hadn't been in London," said the scout.

Jeremy Boga has immense talent in him and a number of French clubs including Olympique Lyonnais, Olympique Marseille, Bordeaux and Monaco were interested to sign him.

Presumably, UEFA President Michel Platini will not be happy with Cheslea signing a 12-year-old boy as the French great is known to be against recruiting players of this age level. Few weeks back, he criticized Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger harshly on this regard, accusing Wenger of putting business before football. So, it is pretty sure that Platini would not like the news of Chelsea signing a boy of Jeremy Boga’s age, though he is yet to comment on this regard. However, Chelsea may not pay any attention to what Michel Platini thinks about the matter, as they did not do anything out of law.
