Chelsea Midfielder Michael Ballack Sidelined for Three Weeks Following Surgery on Feet

Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack will be out of action for at three weeks as the German captain has undergone surgery on his both feet in order to shake off a thickened nerve tissue. Following Germany’s 1-0 world cup qualifier victory over Wales, Ballack started feeling lots of pain in his both feet, and a scan identified the presence of neuroma. Upon discussion with club doctor and manager over his injury, German Football Federation decided to send Ballack to the Surgeon’s table.

However, Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has not shown any fury over the matter, stating that he is happy because he sees it as a test to prove himself as a good coach. Chelsea is missing a number of players through injury at this moment. Specially, after the international break, Chelsea is missing as much as eight regular first team players including Michael Ballack. Ricardo Carvalho, John Terry, Ashley Cole, Joe Cole, Michael Essien, Deco and Didier Drogba all the missing actions fro Chelsea at this moment. So, losing Ballack has left Scolai in big trouble and it is a stern test for Scolari to keep Chelsea’s undefeated run continuing.
