Peter Crouch Leaves Arsenal for Portsmouth

The English striker has left Anfield in a move to join Portsmouth looking to gain more first team appearance next season. Peter Crouch was left out of Liverpool’s regular starting line up last season in the vibrant presence of Spanish striker Fernando Torres. Even though he came on to the field as substitute in most of the matches, he could score 11 goals last season. He along with Jermain Defoe will make up Portsmouth’s attack.

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez admitted that the situation was tough for Peter Crouch as Torres was in excellent form. In fact, Torres was the highest scorer for the club in English Premier League last season. However, the coach also admitted that Liverpool had made an offer of new contract but the striker stressed more on more first team appearance.

So, do you think that Peter Crouch has done the right thing by leaving Liverpool?
