Ferguson: Rio Ferdinand is Best in England, If not in Europe

You know that Rio Ferdinand has been one of the regular members of Manchester United’s starting line up for a number of years now. Since joining the club on a record £33 deal in 2002 from Leeds United, Rio Ferdinand has never looked back, winning three premier league titles and a champion league title till date. There is no doubt, the defender contributed a lot behind all of United’s success.

So, it is natural that United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is pretty much happy with his 29-year old defender. In fact, Ferguson thinks, Rio is the best defenders in England, if not in Europe. Ferguson has admitted that Ferdinand’s contribution to the team’s success. The Scott has also added that for a long time he has not seen a better defensive pair between Rio Ferdinand and Serbian international Nemanja Vidic.
