Arsene Wenger in Dilemma Regarding Youth

After losing three midfielders- Gilberto Silva, Alexander Hleb, Matthieu Flamini, Arsenal is now seriously considering big signings: Xabi Alonso from Liverpool and Gareth Barry from Aston Villa. However, reports have it that it would be very tough for the club to manage to deal with such big amount contracts amid the club’s current financial constraints.

However, manager Arsene Wenger is not worried about it that much, rather the Frenchman is in a dilemma to decide if he will rely on young players or stop reliance on youth bringing experienced players with the money he has at his disposal in what it could limit the chances of young players in the side. Wenger admitted that he was in a position where he could spend money. According to Wenger, it is a sensitive matter without having to do anything with money as it is concerned with the career of a young player.

There is no doubt, Arsenal played very well last season without having any big star in the side and the youngsters played very well helping Arsenal lead the point table most part of the season before losing their momentum at the later part of the season due to injury and lack of big squad. However, the coach is determined to start the new season with stronger mentality.

There is report out in the media that striker Emmanuel Adebayor, who has become a target of Barcelona, demanded a better deal with the club, but the club is not interested to move from their current wage structure. However, Wenger did not admit anything of it. Rather, he confirmed that Arsenal always manage to manage in their budget.
