Euro 2008: Austria and Poland are Facing Each Other in a Group B Match

Austria and Poland are going to take on each other in an important group B match tonight at the Ernst Happel Stadium, Vienna. To both Austria and Poland, today’s match has a lot of significance because both of them lost their opening match in the tournament, meaning another defeat would see them getting eliminated with a match at hand. So, both the sides are eager to win the match in order to survive in the quarter-final race.

Austria lost to Croatia 1-0 in their first match, while Poland suffered a defeat by 2 goals to Germany. So, winning tonight’s match is very important for both the sides. Austria will play in front of the home fans, so they will have home advantage. Actually, Austria’s performance was not bad in the first match, rather their inspirational performance might boost their confidence ahead of the match against Poland. On the other hand, Poland played a bit defensive in the first match, thus letting the opposition strikers to come in and attack. If they continue playing this way against inspired Austria, it might not bring something fruitful for them tonight.

Anyway, the match is expected to be interesting as both sides are confident enough to win the match. So, I think, it is going to be an interesting match.
