Liverpool vs Arsenal Champions League: Online Live Score and Updates

There are just few hours left before the match Liverpool vs Arsenal UEFA Champions League quarter final second leg. This match will take place in the home gourd of Liverpool and this is perhaps the most important match for this seagoing for both the clubs. Arsenal and Liverpool have now only one thing to fight for, the Champions League. Both are almost out of the title race of English Premier League and also out of FA Cup. So, Champions League is the only thing that they look to fight for and have any hope of having any glory in this season for both Arsenal and Liverpool.

The first leg of the quarter final happened last week at the Emirates Stadium, the home ground of Arsenal club. That match ended 1-1. Arsenal played very well and dominated much of the time. Arsenal even took the lead but could not maintain it. Liverpool players played well too. They were not outclassed that much. Again this Saturday Arsenal and Liverpool clashed in the home ground of Arsenal in the English Premier League match. This match also ended 1-1 draw. So, Liverpool players have now a lot of confidence and are happy to see that in two matches at the Emirates they did not suffer lot.

Benitez believes his Liverpool side can knock out the weary Gunners on Tuesday in the second leg of their quarterfinal match - and the final installment of a weeklong Liverpool-Arsenal trilogy.

Five-time European champion Liverpool snatched a crucial away goal in last week's first leg draw and held Arsenal 1-1 again on Saturday in the Premier League to leave the Gunners six points adrift of leader Manchester United.

On the other hand, Arsenal is in a disadvantage position. Normally, Arsenal plays very well in the home ground and Arsenal is often considered to be invincible at the Emirates. But against Liverpool, this time they could not get the much needed win. If they had won the first leg of champions league or at the English Premier League it would have help the club a lot. But, they failed to win none of the two earlier matches. Lack of experience is one factor that you can tell about. Almost all the players of the current Arsenal side are young and half of them are even not that famous. However, they have acted as a team so far very well. With AC Milan, Arsenal was almost same position. The first leg match was drawn and then Arsenal went to Italy play against AC Milan and defeated AC Milan by 2-0 at San Siro stadium. This was the biggest shock of Champions league this season because AC Milan was the reigning champion.

Arsenal know the odds are stacked against them, and will have to spoil a formidable Liverpool record if they are to go through: teh Anfield club have always progressed in the European Cup or Champions League after avoiding defeat in the away first leg of a tie.

Arsenal are lacking confidence and form at present, but striker Emmanuel Adebayor has called on his team-mates to rediscover the spirit of their superb performance in Milan to keep their season alive.

Arsene Wenger's team went to the San Siro in the previous round in a similar position, and won 2-0 thanks to goals from Cesc Fabregas and Adebayor.

Now, let us focus the important players of these two clubs. For Liverpool, the first player who is very important is Fernando Torres. Fernando Torres is a very influential striker for the club and this season he is at his best. Fernando Torres has so far scored 28 goals in all the competition and he has scored most of them in Anfield, the home ground of Liverpool. Arsenal players have to guard him a lot. On the other hand, Liverpool players are hoping that Fernando Torres can get a goal for the club and this can be crucial for them.

Liverpool Echo wrote:

And with domestic success now an impossibility for Liverpool this season, Torres is all too well aware that the chances of him getting his hands on a trophy in the current campaign will be dashed if a way cannot be found past Arsenal.

"It is probably the same for both teams," he said. "We know that we cannot win the Premiership and it will be very difficult for Arsenal now also.

"The Champions League is our best chance of winning a trophy so we have to be very focused.

Arsenal fans are looking towards their goal keeper Manuel Almunia. Almunia is playing very well this season and most of Arsenal fans have forgotten their no. 1 goal keeper Jens Lehmann. When the season started Jens Lehmann of Germany was the top goal keeper for Arsenal. Now, it is Almunia who is playing very well. He has made some very impressive saves in this season against all the clubs. Even in the last match against Liverpool in the first leg of Champions League, Almunia made some remarkable saves. Almunia has expressed his confidence that he is not afraid of the challenge and he is hopeful that this time Arsenal can come back and defeat Liverpool.

Goal.com wrote:

But Arsenal's Spanish goalkeeper, Manuel Almunia, says the prospect of tonight's game holds no fear for him.

He is enjoying the responsibility if being Arsenal's number one, have displaced German international Jens Lehmann at the start of the season and retained his place ever since except for a few games when he was injured.

"I played the end of the Champions League [final] against Barcelona [in 2006] when they sent off Lehmann, but that was different,” he said.

For Liverpool, the key player in this season is their Captain Steven Gerrard. Gerrard is in superb form. In last week, in the match against Arsenal in the first leg of Champions League, Gerrard played well and he was the main threat for Arsenal in that match. He also helped in the goal that Liverpool scored.

If Gerrard is a powerful weapon for Liverpool then the same goes for Cesc Fàbregas. Cesc Fàbregas is a very young player but he is very talented and he is very influential for this young Arsenal side. However, in the last match against Liverpool Cesc Fàbregas was not so influential. He was superb against AC Milan but in the last one week we had not seen Cesc Fàbregas to be at his best form. Tonight is the night for Cesc Fàbregas. If he can inspire Arsenal to win the match then will become a big celebrity and a very big hero for Arsenal. It should be noted here that Cesc Fàbregas is a midfield player but he has scored a descent number of goals this season. He has also assisted other players to score some goals too. In the match against AC Milan he scored a goal out of nowhere.
