Derby County vs Arsenal: Arsene Wenger Keen to Include New Faces in the Starting XI

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger wants to include some young new faces in the starting eleven of Arsenal against Derby County today. The match has hardly any important to both the clubs. Arsenal is now seven points behind leaders Manchester United and Chelsea with a match at hand. However, it is almost clear that Arsenal is not going to win the English premier league title of this season. On the other hand, for Derby County, relegation has been ensured a few weeks ago. So, a victory for either side will not bring any change in the league table.

Considering the situation, Arsenal manager is now wishing to give chances to some young players who were irregular in the line up. He hinted that goal keeper Lukasz Fabianski was going to have his premier league debut against Derby County.

Northamptonchron reported:

"There are some players I want to see," Wenger confirmed.

"However, I've not much of a choice at the moment, I have only 14 or 15 fit players, so a few of them will be involved."

Arsenal is now at third place in the league with 74 points and Wenger wants his boys finish the season with 84 points meaning they have to win the three remaining matches. Ahead of the match against Derby County, now it is a new race among the young players of Arsenal. The club was in the title race almost all the season. However, Arsenal suffered a lot at the end of the season with a number of key players suffering from injury. The club has a small squad and that is why, the players did not get enough breaks during the busy schedule both in England and Champions League. Even two months ago, the Gunners had an eight point lead at the top of the league point table.

Anyway, I think, Arsenal played very well this season, specially their triumph over AC Milan in Champions league was something football fans will remember for a long time. Though Arsenal started the season with no major stars in the squad, a number of player emerged as rising star in premier league. So, if they remain at Arsenal for at least two more years then I think, Arsenal is going to dominate premier league for a long time and time may come when this squad would be considered one of the best squad Arsenal has ever seen in its history.
