Wenger Called on His Players to Repeat Milan Success at Wigan Athletic

Arsene Wenger called upon Arsenal player to continue their Milan form when they travel to Wigan Athletic this weekend. The manager thinks becoming champion in England requires traveling from Milan to Wigan and winning the game. Arsenal is now a point ahead of second placed Manchester United in the premier league. So, Arsenal has no way to be relaxed. Arsenal was going through a patchy form in the league before their 2-0 triumph at AC Milan. Arsenal lost four points in their last two Premier league matches.

So, for Arsenal, winning at Wigan is badly needed, while Wigan is not being threatened of relegation as they are just within two points of relegation zone. That is why, Wigan must try their best to avoid defeat. Wenger admitted that it would be a big test for his side at Wigan Athletic.

ESPN Soccernet reported:

'It will be a big test because they (Wigan) are playing not to go down. They are under pressure like we are at the top. They are under pressure not to go down and I have heard that the pitch is not the Emirates.'

I think, Arsenal needs to show much more consistency at this crucial stage of the season. No doubt, Wenger boys showed immense success so far this season considering at least their premier league performance. Arsenal lost only one match so far this season in premier league. However, they drew in their last two premier league matches that allowed Manchester United to come as close as one point. So, any more slip up would cost Arsenal heavily and would be a huge blow in their title hopes.
