Robin van Persie Confident of Compensating for the Missing Matches

Arsenal striker Robin van Persie said that he would make up for lost time in the remainder of the season. The Dutch forward has come back to action recently in Arsenal’s goal less draw match against Wigan Athletic. This was his first appearance with Arsenal since he was sidelined due to injury last January. The young striker got off to a good start in the season with scoring seven goals from 11 matches before suffering from knee and muscles injury. Thus, he missed a big part of the season what he now wants to compensate for, helping his side to win the doubles.

Arsenal is still active in Champions League and Premier league. Arsenal is now just two points clear at the top which could be proven in adequate if Manchester United wins their next match at Premier League. The Gunners reached the quarter final of Champions League thanks to an impressive victory at San Siro against AC Milan last week.

Fox Sports reported:

"I started the season with very big ideas, my ambition was very high and it still is," van Persie told Arsenal TV OnLine.

"I have missed many games - but I am thinking positive at the moment and I want to end this season good with the team.

"I am happy to be back and am quite positive that we can win the league and the Champions League."

Now, Robin van Persie can help his side to win the double, which would be the best success of Arsenal in the near past. Even winning either of the tournaments would be considered as a success for the young Arsenal side, who was written off having any success this season following Thierry Henry’s move to Barcelona. So, let us see if Robin van Persie can continue his impressive run as quickly as Arsenal is needed.
