Robin van Persie Comes Back in Arsenal Squad for the Champions League against AC Milan

Arsenal will face AC Milan at San Siro in their second leg match of round 16 of Champions League this evening. Arsenal’s recent form is not that much alluring as they have lost four points from their last two premier league matches and ended up with a goal less draw in their first leg match against AC Milan at home. Last month they suffered a humiliating 4-0 defeat to Manchester United in FA Cup.

However, the only good news for the Arsenal fans ahead of the second leg match is that their long time absent striker Robin van Persie has been back to the squad. He will be at the reserve bench against AC Milan. However, Wenger may not bring him on the field being overcautious regarding the Dutch forward because Robin van Persie made two attempts to come back in action during this season, but got injured on both occasions. So, it is expected that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger may not take any more risk with his young striker.

Football.guardian reported:

Arsenal have included striker Robin van Persie in their squad for Tuesday's match against AC Milan in Italy, the Premier League leaders said on their Web site (www.arsenal.com).

The Dutchman has been out since early January with a thigh injury.

Kolo Toure has been one of the most influential center half of Arsenal so far this season. So, his absence might create some problem for the Gunners when then take on AC Milan today. Anyway, given the Arsenal’s current performance, I think, it would be an excellent come back if Arsenal can win a place at the quarter final of Champions league.
