Return of Kolo Toure and Emmanuel Eboue Eases the Injury Blow at Arsenal

Arsenal defender Kolo Toure and Emmanuel Eboue have been back to Arsenal after completing their international duty in African Nations Cup 2008. Though it was initially thought that Wenger would not rush his African stars so soon, it seems that he might be forced to feature Kolo Toure and Emmanuel Eboue in Arsenal’s FA Cup clash with Manchester United at the Old Trafford, as a number of players are set to miss the important match with injury.

Telegraph reported:

Against Blackburn, Wenger was without nine players through injury, although Philippe Senderos (knee), Mathieu Flamini (hamstring) and Cesc Fabregas (illness) played despite their problems.

Senderos admitted after the 2-0 win over Blackburn, which saw Arsenal move five points clear at the top of the Premier League, he was playing through the pain barrier which could force Wenger to bring Toure back into the fold.

Arsenal opened up a five-point lead at the top of Premier League so far this season. If Toure and Eboue are fit then Wenger would perhaps feature them in against Manchester United. However, Arsenal will play on the road to Old Trafford and it would not be an easy match. Manchester United has already found their back on the wall. So, Manchester United will give their best to reel off the victory. The good news for the Arsenal fans is that Czech midfielder Tomas Rosicky has recovered from his hamstring injury and has the chance to be back in action against Manchester United. Now, let us see if Arsenal can continue their impressive run, despite the injury problems.
