Manchester United within Three Points of Arsenal at Premier League

Manchester United has moved up within three points of the leaders Arsenal at the top of premier league point table with an enthralling 5-1 victory over Newcastle United last week. The match was very much important for Manchester United as they were going into the match with a five point deficit with Arsenal and this was the first premier league after their derby defeat to Manchester City at home.

Following their Champions League draw and FA Cup victory, Manchester United has come back in their imperious form in premier league as well. Though they are still three points behind the Gunners, it is now very possible for Manchester United to reach catch Arsenal.

United’s defense has continued to provide a platform for the likes of Rooney, Ronaldo, and Anderson to attack. Two goals apiece from Rooney and Ronaldo ensured it was another thrashing against Newcastle, but just as importantly, signified to the rest of the league that United do indeed mean business.

United’s FA Cup win over Arsenal has already taken its toll on the Gunners. Following their trouncing at Old Trafford, Arsene Wenger’s men are yet to win. A goalless draw against Milan in the Champions League was followed by a draw against Birmingham City in the league.

With the two goals, Ronaldo has regained the top place in the highest scorers’ list with 21 league goals to his credit so far this season. Manchester United’s next fixture is on the road to second bottom side Fulham. Manchester United will try their best to pick up three points continuing their dominance. Let us see if Manchester United can go on with their imperious form in their pursuit to defend the premier league title.
